This summer, USTU’s Emergency Preparedness Committee held a community-wide drill to make sure we’re ready for whatever comes our way. Residents grabbed their go bags and headed to the designated meeting spot, putting our emergency plan into action.
Whether it’s a fire or an earthquake, the E Prep Committee has clear plans in place to keep everyone safe. Behind the scenes, we maintain supplies of dehydrated food and barrels of clean drinking water, ready for use if they’re ever needed.
But preparedness isn’t just about supplies and plans — it’s about people. The USTU community looks out for each other, and that spirit is built right into our emergency response. Every building has a designated neighbor who commits to checking in on residents and doing wellness checks when it matters most.
Drills like this one help us stay sharp, spot gaps in our plans, and remind everyone where to go and what to do in an emergency. Thank you to everyone who participated — your readiness helps keep the whole community safe.
